The key site of Reunion island. The best fitted out and very busy site ! Daily meeting for many pilots. The weather conditions are often mild and thermal currents pleasant to be seized. One can flie from that spot 300 days a year (to leeward coast). Crosses are possible northward as Southward.

 

TAKEOFF GROUND

The usual takeoff ground is the 800, but you can also take off higher, early in the morning, from the 1 400 or the 1 500

Aerology
Please, beware of strong North winds, you would be to leeward of trees during the first minutes of flight.
Indeed watch the sea before taking off to make sure that there is no strong wind in St-Leu's bay. Frequently, and it is the danger of this site, everything is quiet at the takeoff and there is a 40 kph wind on the landing ground. In that case, please, land on Parapente-Reunion hillside-school. Be careful : there are thorny bushes (called "kékés" here) all around !

LANDING GROUND
The official landing ground is on the tortoise'beach just next to the "FERME CORAIL", after flying over the turquoise blue lagoon and over the magnificent coral reef. Unforgettable sight...

Even if you have sight troubles don't worry : there is always someone on this site, either from a school or from a local club, who will kindly inform you about the weather conditions at this time of the day.
