Access : Take the road to the volcano from Murat village, go past the Rivière des Remparts point of view over Rivière des Rempart. The Piton is on the left, about 3 km farther. It is locatable by pylones of Hertzian relays. Leave vehicles on road side and keep walking. Takeoff is made towards the back, in front of the Plaine des Palmistes.
Aerology : As for all the sites over 1 500 meters ASL, it is necessary to arrive early because cloud formation can be very fast.
