Situation : Saint Leu (West coast).

Altitude : 750 meters

The best fitted out and the most frequented site ! Daily meeting for many pilots. The conditions are often mld and thermal current pleasant to be seized.

One can flie from it 300 days a year (to leeward coast). Crosses are possible northward as Southward.

This site has been refitted for the World Cup. Works started from july untill november 2003. Two take-off area, two car parks and catering services are now available.

Access : From the N1 turn opposite Ferme Corail ( tortoises breeding, 1 km North of Saint-Leu) into Colimaçons secondary road.
Just after the the church of Colimaçons, take to the left towards Trois-Bassins. At the next crossroads turn right on the CD13 towards La Chaloupe. Takeoff is about 1 km in a bend below the road on your right-hand side.

Another solution : Stop at Ferme Corail (bus stop) and take a club shuttle which will take you up to the déco for 3.5 €. Club atmosphere guaranteed !

Aerology : Please, beware of strong North wind, you would be to leeward of a trees hedge during the first minutes'flight.
Indeed watch the sea before taking off to check that there is no wind in St-Leu's bay. Frequently, and it is the danger of this site, everything is quiet at the takeoff and there is a 40 kph wind on the landing ground. In that case, please, land on parapente-Reunion hillside-school. (watch the thorny bushes all around !)
